I would prefer to give this place 3.5 stars, but I'm going to be optimistic and go with 4 instead of 3. This is your typical strip mall Chinese place, that just happens to be in the hood of downtown Brentwood. I really enjoyed their broccoli, tried it in the broccoli and garlic sauce and chicken and broccoli and it was cooked perfectly. It was also obviously fresh. Someone in a previous review complained about the bland chicken and broccoli, and I will admit that the flavor is mild. However, a mild flavor is what I expect from chicken and broccoli. I found the broccoli fresh and crisp and the chicken well trimmed and cooked just right. We also enjoyed the chicken chow fun soup, which was a pleasant surprise. Again the flavor was mild, but a little packet of soy sauce perks it right up. I will happily use this place as my regular take out Chinese restaurant. Be aware that they also do daily specials that aren't on the menu if you call in for take out.
Food here is the best in Brentwood. Anything I order is always fresh and taste great. I highly recommend this place if your looking for great food.
It's in the hood of Brentwood. I worked here a few years back widening Wicks Rd up to Fifth Ave & I would call in my order for pick up because we usually didn't get to stop for lunch. What I found is the food was always fresh & seasoned so well I never used any of my sauce packets. They do specials not on their menu. My favorite being Chicken Livers with Garlic Sauce & Pork Fried Rice. Delicious! Any who, it was No Cook Friday & I wanted something different but the same. I ordered the Subgum Wonton dish which consisted of Chicken, Pork, Shrimp & Lobster with vegetables with Crispy Wontons. I asked them to pack the wontons separately. Delicious dish & yes, there was Real Lobster! See the slipper tail in the pix. I also ordered Rib Tips in Black Bean Sauce with Vegetables. I thought they would use unmarinated rib tips. Language barrier misunderstanding. No biggie, it was still good. Worth the drive for a different spin on the regular run of the mill American Chinese food. Definitely try if you're in the area. 1-13-2017 Yup Friday the 13th!
